Integration Developer

Hastings Mutual is currently looking for an Integration Developer. The individual in this role's primary responsibility is to enhance, manage, and support the Guidewire Insurance Suite, consisting of PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and BillingCenter as part of our core systems. This position will support the internal and external integrations of the Guidewire Suite and will continuously evaluate current and emerging strategies. The Integration developer position will design and write integration components that directly interact with Guidewire application(s). These components utilize standard APIs or other integration mechanisms to transmit, extract, push, and pull Guidewire data.
Reporting to the Application Development Manager, this role will be based at our Hastings, Michigan corporate headquarters.
Position Duties& Responsibilities
  • Provides the technical leadership and effort estimates regarding Guidewire integration development assignments and projects.
  • Designs Guidewire integration architecture in conjunction with the target system experts.
  • Designs and codes Guidewire integration components including plug-ins, messaging and programs that call the Guidewire application APIs.
  • Configures and manages Guidewire source control systems and daily build processes, providing assistance in the setup and management of the Guidewire automated build and test processes where applicable.
  • Creates new Guidewire data model elements and extend the existing applications data model with new properties as needed for integration components.
  • Produces complete technical design documents
  • Supports the QA testing efforts and resolve defects to ensure quality code turnover.
  • Proposes solutions to improve business unit productivity and/or business results.
  • Provides on-call support as necessary.
Candidate Requirements& Qualifications
  • Associate's or BachelorÔ s degree, related Microsoft or Sun certification, or equivalent experience.
  • Certificate in General Insurance (IIA), Associate Designations, or demonstrated insurance experience helpful.
  • Demonstrated ability in coordinating activities, analytical reasoning, logical problem solving, strong attention to detail, and establishing priorities, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication ability.
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment as well as independently on assignments.
  • Knowledge of Java programming or another object-oriented programming language, in addition to database and client/server concepts required.
  • Successful experience in solving complex technical problems.
  • General knowledge of Java IDE tools and related utilities.
  • Ability to perform peer code reviews.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
