We are seeking a Development Director to join our team.

Salaried Associate (NON-EXEMPT) BROAD FUNCTION:
The Development Director is responsible for leading the fundraising and membership efforts of the Institute.
The Development Director will work collaboratively with volunteers, staff, and other constituents to ensure the resources are available to the Institute to meet its mission of environmental education.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS:
Build and manage an annual fundraising plan supported by marketing and membership development efforts.
Build, oversee, and manage an annual budget in areas of responsibility and keep the Executive Director informed of status.
Work with the Fund Development Council and continue to build resources that support growth in fundraising efforts.
Ensure donor software is accurate, configured, and utilized for membership and development.
Perform duties on time and within budget.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Development Director is accountable to the Executive Director.
PRIMARY DUTIES & ACTIVITIES:
Develop and manage an annual fundraising plan, including fundraising events, annual solicitations, and grant requests.
Build and strengthen donor relations that provide expanded fundraising potential.
Keep abreast of new fundraising ideas to allow implementation as appropriate.
Process and maintain appropriate communications with donors, including timely acknowledgment of all financial and in-kind contributions.
Ensure accurate and effective use of the Institute's donor database.
Assist other staff with its use.
Oversee the creation of fundraising materials, including membership solicitations and renewals, annual and special appeal letters, brochures, and emails.
Research, write, and submit grants to grow the Institute's efforts.
Help grow membership through retention and acquisition efforts with creative marketing and promotion ideas.
Oversee marketing efforts in fundraising and membership areas.
Ensure fundraising and membership areas of the website are updated, accurate, and compelling.
Supervise the Marketing Manager and Guest Services & Graphic Design Coordinator to support effective and accurate operations.
All other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent oral and written communication skills and computer skills.
Excellent people skills and ability to build relationships to grow donor base.
Interest in fundraising and ability to write grants.
Ability to develop plans and timelines and follow through to completion.
Commitment to the Pierce Cedar Creek Institute mission.
ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY:
The Development Director must work well independently and collaboratively with staff members, Board members, and volunteers to continually develop resources supporting the Institute's mission and vision.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
The Development Director supervises the Marketing Coordinator and Guest Services & Graphic Design Coordinator, along with volunteers in areas of responsibility.
