Barry County United Way & Volunteer Center Barry County United Way & Volunteer Center Hastings, MI Hastings, MI Full-time Full-time $18 - $20 an hour $18 - $20 an hour 21 hours ago 21 hours ago 21 hours ago Under the direction of the Program Director and Executive Director, the full time Housing Resource Coordinator will work directly with at risk families in housing crisis situations.
Through direct case management this person will help to identify the needs of individuals and families by connecting them with the appropriate community resources to achieve well-being and success.
This position will include public speaking, data entry, grant and systems management, and continued community engagement with housing initiatives and programming.
The ideal candidate will have experience with budgeting, event management, community relationship building, and will be able to work as a team for the benefit of our clients.
Position will remain open until filled.
Essential duties and responsibilities of the Housing Resource Coordinator include:
The Coordinator will work with clients as they locate and secure appropriate housing based on their needs.
Clients may not be eligible to Barry County United Way grant funded program.
However, it is the role of the Coordinator to determine an appropriate recommendation.
Client intake and direct case management, which can include but is not limited to:
Assessing the case and making decisions based on the best interested of the individual/family within the parameters we have available.
If no resources are available within the organization itself, the specialist will work on connecting individuals/families to resources in the community.
Assisting clients through case management with budgeting skills, seeking employment, and other needs as it relates to achieving success.
Working directly with landlords and service providers to help resolve barriers, conflicts or confusion.
Keeping a working relationship with landlords to be in-tune with up to date housing stock, turnover rate and the condition of properties where clients are enrolled in program.
Data input and maintenance for client records within different software programs:
internal intake systems log, Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), coordinated entry and HCV homeless preference waitlist.
(training is provided for these systems) Management of our current program programs and meeting reporting guidelines.
This also may include grant writing in the future.
Act as the coordinator for the HARA for our county.
This includes attending and reporting at the monthly Continuum of Care meetings held locally.
Rental home inspections for those who are eligible for our grant funded programs.
Other job duties include but are not limited to:
Perform intake of all clients seeking assistance with our agency either by phone or in person.
Ensure necessary follow-up is completed when referrals are made.
Develop appropriate working and confidential relationships with individuals/families.
Demonstrate respect for individual/family dynamics, strengths and culture.
Assist individuals/families in enhancing or developing their own understanding of community resources and involvement.
Assists Community Impact Coordinator with MEAP grant Maintain and build relationships with community resources Additional Office Duties May Include:
Attend and participate in program and community meetings as required Clerical office duties Helping in other office related events as needed; such as campaign kick-off, the Christmas program, backpack program, community resource fairs, and volunteer center events.
And any other tasks as assigned This is a full time position with benefits.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
